Stephanie Flaherty

Licensed Massage Therapist

Stephanie went into massage therapy at the age of 42 because she found the most job satisfaction she ever received was when she was making people feel happy. She likes to describe her massage sessions as a form of therapy to provide a safe, nurturing place for clients to relax, refocus and find clarity.

Her focus on her massage practice is to bring a sense of calm to clients that find themselves overly stressed, have depression, and/or anxiety and clients who find themselves that suffer from chronic headaches or migraines by using a customized treatment by utilizing a deep therapeutic massage.

“A 60-minute massage can lower cortisol, a hormone that’s produced in response to stress, by an average of 30 percent. And when cortisol levels decline, serotonin — one of the body’s anti-pain mechanisms — increases by an average of 28 percent after receiving a massage. By lowering cortisol and increasing serotonin, you’re boosting your body’s ability to fight off pain, anxiety and feelings of sadness.” - Mayo Clinic Health System

Stephanie likes to incorporate essential oils and/or tension releasing hot balsam stones in her sessions to help aide in maintaining an emotional balance of mind and body.

She encourages and welcomes people who may never had massages before, or otherwise nervous about receiving a massage. She expresses that she harbors no judgement and all that is required of her clients is to show up and be open to maintaining a less stressful life. “Even if you want to talk or vent during your whole massage to someone who cares and just listens, or to have me help you practice mindful meditation during your session, it is your choice, this is your time to heal.” – Stephanie Flaherty

“Rest and be kind, you don’t have to prove anything.” – Jack Kerouac
